I Guess October Was a Bust

Oh did I miss to blog for the entire month of October? Seriously? And I have already run out of time today to do what I wanted.

But I wanted to pop on in and let everyone know that we're okay. Good even. It was just a busy month and I have stories to tell but it's going to have to wait until after the retreat this weekend. But we're all alive and well, even if just slow to move some days...

Things I Dig

Waking to the laughter and songs of the Sandhills cranes in the neighboring fields
The sound of crickets and frogs in the evening gloom
A hot bowl of homemade soup on a chilly day after a good romp with the dogs.
Fresh snow on damp grass
A cozy fire while I chase the cat out of the christmas tree, again.
The smell of cranberries after a fall frost
Soft morning rain
That look of stunned silence I get when I say what the people in the room I want to know were thinking.
Deep purple blooms peeking from dark green foliage. I like deep blue blossoms too
A good chilled lambic
Sitting in the sun laughing and sharing thoughts with friends
Making new friends over shared interests
Tired dogs after a good river romp
The cool side of the pillow on a muggy night
Afternoon sun across stitches, fur, or just wind rippled water
Cheap red Wine with friends who also need to unwind a bit.
Soft dog ears laid in my lap to pet
The feel and smell of good wool
The smell of wood smoke in fresh rain
